    CAC Executive Director Job Description

    This position is responsible for providing direction and oversight to the planning, development and management of the Chittenden Children's Advocacy Center (CCAC). The Executive Director is responsible for supervising ongoing programs and operations, developing a strong funding base, representing the center in the community and maintaining effective working relationships among the various centers, departments and agencies essential for the center's success. 

    CCAC is a Nationally Accredited Child Advocacy Center that is dedicated to providing trauma-informed and victim-centered services to both children and adults.

         Responsibilities: 

    ·         Responsible for the daily management and administration of the Chittenden Children's Advocacy Center.

    ·         Responsible for preparing and overseeing the CCAC budget. Keep the policy board informed on relevant financial issues.

    ·         Recommend and implement board approved policies. Keep the policy board informed about relevant developments that could impact the CCAC.

    ·         Work in conjunction with the Victim's Advocate to provide support to victims and their families and ensure standards are continuously in place and re-assessed to help reduce trauma to victims and non-offending family members.

    ·         Organize and facilitate monthly Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.

    ·         Lobby Vermont Legislators and Senators on behalf of the CCAC.

    ·         Establish and maintain relationships with collaborative agencies and organizations, and the community towards meeting the mission statement.

    ·         Write and manage grants. Ensure compliance and reporting. Cultivate and maintain relationships with state leaders, town managers, State's Attorney's Office, local police departments and sheriff's office, grant makers, and donors. Identify and develop fundraising events.

    ·         Maintain relationships with the National Children's Alliance and the Vermont Children's Alliance. 

    ·         Responsible for the development and administration of standards and procedures related to personnel, including staff development, budget, strategic planning, succession planning, protocol and the facilities.

    ·         Act as a liaison between the State's Attorney's Office and law enforcement when necessary.

    ·         Conduct effectiveness and satisfaction surveys of the victims and their families experience.

    ·         Maintain public relations with the local media and build rapport with the public to improve community awareness.

    ·         Maintain website.

         Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

    ·         Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration or related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, demonstrated equivalent professional experience may suffice.

    ·         At least 5 years of experience in victim advocacy, nonprofit management or multi-disciplinary child protection work.

    ·         Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and leadership skills.

    ·         Strong knowledge of child welfare, criminal justice system and trauma-informed care.

    ·         Proven experience in supervision, budgeting, grant writing and community collaboration.

    ·         Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize issues appropriately and make sound decisions.

    ·         Ability to maintain positive work relationships in a busy office environment.

    ·         Solid experience in a Windows operating environment, Microsoft Office suite (including Word and Excel) required.

    ·         Ability to exercise considerable discretion and to work in a highly confidential environment. Confidentiality is of the highest order for the betterment of the unit, victims, and families.

    ·         Background in law enforcement with knowledge of Vermont Incident Based Reporting system preferred.

    ·         Must possess and maintain valid Vermont Driver's license.

    ·         Upon conditional offer of employment, the applicant must agree to submit to a criminal background check.

         Job Type: Full-time

         Pay: $33.66 per hour

         Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO) prorated accordingly and 13 Holidays

         Schedule: Monday to Friday
